Information Support of Project Teams

The aim of the diploma thesis is to outline the possibilities of information support of project teams by an Informational Specialist. The theoretical part introduces different project management methodologies and further specifies the individual project phases as seen by PMBoK methodology. In the chapters focusing on each of the phases of a project, all necessary input sources as well as all output documents that are essential for the project to move on to its next phase are defined and elaborated on. This part is followed by a description of possibilities of information support for working with information sources and creating output documents with regard to competencies, which an Information Specialist should have. Key in this respect is the third and the fourth chapter, including specific proposals on the possibility of information support of a project team by an Information Specialist. The practical part is focused on the role of an Information Specialist in the implementation of a specific project in a company - in particular, a major financial institution on the Czech market. While the theoretical part is based on the study of literature, the practical part is mainly based on personal consultation with a Project Manager of the company.
Employment opportunities for information professionals in corporate sector

This bachelor thesis is focused on employment opportunities of information professionals in the labour market in conjunction with current educational possibilities in the Czech Republic. The thesis provides a detailed overview of competencies related to information profession within six information areas. Furthermore, it also monitors local and international trends in this field. The second part aims to evaluate usefulness and practicality of selected professional courses currently offered within the Information studies and librarianship at the Faculty of Arts at the Charles University in relation with the needs of graduates in the corporate sector.

The process of indexing thesis

(en) This thesis deals with a different approach to indexing from the perspective of the information professionals and the author himself. This verifies different approach based on comparative analysis of theses and dissertations from Charles University. The practical part is based on the processing of theses and dissertations in the Library of Social Science, T. G. Masaryk. With regard to the practical part of the work refers to concepts such as interpretation of the text, vocabulary, and its combinatorial elements. One section discusses the actual process of indexing with respect to content analysis.
